''Pelures''– Exhibition

Berirouche Feddal,  Florence Yee

January 20 - February 26 -  2022

Bradley Ertaskiran is pleased to present Pelures, a group exhibition featuring Berirouche Feddal and Florence Yee.

Meticulous in their creation, Yee and Feddal’s work are evidence of labour and care, not only in their physical acts of making (Yee’s hand stitches or Feddal’s layers of paint and pastel) but also in the time spent engaging with images and language of their cultural legacies.

Berirouche Feddal: la couleur est partout. Fabrique Culturelle, Dans les ateliers -Video

In the heart of the old Grover factory, Berirouche Feddal makes his grandmother's colors vibrate to the rhythm of traditional Berber music.

Originally from North Africa, from present-day "Algeria" - more precisely from the region of the mountains of Kabylia -, and linked to the Igawawen populations of the Nath Irathen arc and to the Amazigh heritage, Berirouche Feddal is a Montreal artist recognized for his its transdisciplinarity. He holds a BA in Print Media from Concordia University (2020). His work has notably been presented in Montreal and in Morocco. The artist lives and works in Montreal.

Exhibition '' Réassembler les pièces et défaire les patrons.''

Curator : Robie schuler

This exhibition aims to explore textiles as a subversive, engaged, feminist and decolonial medium.

It is at the same time a reappropriation of the body, of the territory, of history.

A reflection on the conquered and the damaged.

A reflection and a force that emanates from the medium. (...)

Exhibition ''Inconfort''

Through different artistic mediums, these artists from various cultural backgrounds approach the theme of discomfort from all angles. Whether it is cloudy memories, identity questions or immersive experiences, these artists deploy visual poetry to create a dialogue on the subject.

Humans face daily discomfort. Understanding what makes us uncomfortable is understanding more of the world we are around. He comes to question whether comfort is just a simple utopian quest that orders our daily actions.
